The Zebra
Who isn't intrigued with the zebra pattern? It is chic, exotic. For the animal itself, it's pattern is a lifesaver. For us, it is beautiful to see. In my quest for zebra patterns products for my own home... I had a very hard time finding anything! So I put together a search and came across a nice selection of items featuring our beloved zebra pattern and am sharing it with you now. And yes... my living room was designed black and white with all zebra pattern accessories!

How Many Types of Zebra Are There?
There are three main Species of Zebra, the Plains Zebra,the Mountain Zebra, and the Grevys Zebra.The first group,the Plains Zebras, are also referred to as the Common Zebra. Then there are several sub-types within the main groups: the Grants, the Burchells, the Chapmans, Damarland, Selous.
The second group is the Mountain Zebra, with two sub-species remaining. One is the Hartman Mountain zebra and the other the Cape Mountain zebra. These zebras have a stripe pattern that appear to be halfway between that basic patterning of the Plains types and the Grevys. They have longer donkey-type ears.
The third type is the Grevys Zebra. The Grevys is thought to be the oldest of the zebra types and the largest. The body is longer in shape, the head is long, the neck very short and thick. The shoulder height is just under 5 feet. The ears are large, open curves. The striping pattern is the most beautiful, with many narrow and closely spaced stripes over the body extending all the way to the hooves, leaving a white belly. They have a black tipped mane.
