Nintendo's most recent Zelda outing - Twilight Princess might well be the most anticipated game ever, withmilllions of fans kept waiting after multiple delays. But it's here at last, a a bridge between the death of the GameCube and the Birth of the Wii - and it's amazing.

Twilight Princess - first impressions.

My first views on Twilight Princess, Gamecube version.

Ye gods - this is good so far.
In the Legend of Zelda's most recent outing, The legend of zelda - Twilight Princess, Link is a country farm boy, who seemingly makes a living rounding goats on his horse (Whom you get to name =^.^=).

But the creatures in the forest are growing very uneasy - and strange things are afoot...

Link's swordmaster assigns him the task of going to Hyrule castle with his village's (Ordon) tribute - a ceremonial sword and shield. Link goes out to herd the goats, but hurts his horse.

Note: Beware of the baby in Ordon - beneath those killer eyebrows lie Darth Vader's brain.

Ilia (Can you say love interest?) then gets huffy with Link and goes off to soothe the horse in the forest's spring.

But when you get there some time after, nasty, strange monsters appear and take Kidnap Her! (I bet you're just captivateed by my storytelling skills, huh.)

Later on you find a mysterious force that turns you into a wolf - the Twilight.
you meet up with a mysterious and powerful creature named Midna who decided to help you - if you but hel her in return.

And all the time the twilight advances, seemingly unstoppable...

First off - the graphics are fantastic
. Just wow - the detail is as amazing as the world is immersive. The twilight realm is truly amazing and mystical, and the world of light looks beautiful. Imagine something that looks more real than real life. The word you're loking for isn't creepy, but amazing.

The controls are smooth, the horseriding is just hard enough to be plausible and being a wolf is nice and easy to sink into. It's basicaly the same controlls as Ocarina of Time and Majora's mask - using button combinations and hold L-targeting.

I'm half way through the first dungeon, and it's a-taken four hours to get so far. The dungeons are just hard enough to be fun - and are much more innovative than anything we've seen so far. and all the interfaces are so pretty @_@.

And that's about it. I'm playing it on the Gamecube - and at first sight it rocks supremely, it just oozes hard work and effort. I'll keep you informed.

Twilight Princess trailer - November 1st 2006

Twilight Princess trailer released just before the game was (US).

This shows many cool game elements - spiffy music, Link in both his forms and, to many people's (Including me) delight - a fairy who seems to follow Link around ^^.

Twilight Princess announcement

Twilight Princess receives a standing ovation when announced at E3 2004

The camera man gets a bit exctied and starts screaming at Shigeru Miyamoto 'You The Man!!!' near the end. The text on the trailer reads;

'Blades will bleed
Shields will shatter,
But as darkness fades
Will the hero rise again,
Or will Darkness Reign?'

Oooooh... Drama.

Twilight Princess - a history.

Above you can see when Twilight Princess was first annouced at E3 2004.

Since it was first announced at E3 2004 - Twilight princess had two deleys, shifting it back over a year overall from Summer '05. Nintendo kept us on our toes with little tidbits of information and trailers.

There was some contreversion as the Wii (Then known as revolution) was announced - and there was a year of worry as us poor Gamecube owners thought TP would be Wii-exclusive. But it wasn't =^.^=.

That same period was murder to fans. Practically no new news was released for nearly a year. The fans were left open to fake new, screenshots - and were sapping all the info they had for insane speculation. But then in spring 2006 tons of trailers, screenshots, interviews and news got all the fans hyped again.

In the beginning, the Twilight realm was purely black-and-white, apart from the player. This was changed for the over-hystgrogramed sepia colours that the Twilight is today. This cutting from Nintendo Power magszine shows a before and after;

Tp princess - Mid development

Twilight princess when the story was finished, but before the year-long delay.

If we hadn't waited the extra year, this is what TP would look like. 70% of this has changed in some way, but it displays the monochrome Twilight well.
