More about Zero Radius Sinks

Have you ever used a really large sink and hated the big clanging sound it makes ? A truly modern zero radius sink will be made with sound deadening material. Some manufacturers even call this a sound dampening "system" to really make it seem technical. The truth is that there is a special coating, similar to padding, on the unseen side of the sink that prevents the sink from vibrating too much. To get an idea of what it looks like, imagine the undercoating on the bottom of cars and you will be in the ball park. In addition to the coating, a few pads may be added to further decrease the noise.
This type of sink can be very large. The average depth of a large sink will be around nine inches. The measurements on one side will be thirty inches which is six inches short of three feet long. The shorter side will be about twenty inches. If it is made with the popular stainless steel, the grade of the steel will be 304. This is a non-magnetic type of steel and usually TIG or heli-arc welded for strength. It will last for quite a while. Smaller sizes of these sinks will be twenty inches by fifteen inches at the outer lip.
