Well they're battery powered Hamsters that actually look and act like the real thing.

But the cool thing about them is they make no mess and don't need any real caring for. Where I come from, as a kid, there had been an advert on TV that declared "A pet isn't for Christmas, it's for life!" This is where Zhu Zhu Pets dominate the market. Because they're so life like and have their own personalities oldsters can actually now buy their kid a pet without the worry that they're going to become bored by them and eventually neglect them.

With these small men you switch them off tuck them up in their hamster blankets ( if you have them ) and they're prepared for next time the youngsters need to play with them. These small animals don't simply come alone, there are many accessories available, from a slide which they clime up to whoosh down, to a hamster ball where you can place them within and off they are going exploring around your living room.

The best accessory however must be the Hamster House, this is great since as your Zhu Zhu Pets Hamster rambles between the rooms it can engage with the house. So if for example he rambles into the lavatory he's going to make flushing or teeth brushing noises, it truly is quite funny and awfully clever.

Zhu Zhu Pets. Will You Be In The Position To Purchase One As Christmas Gets Nearer

As soon as Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters were received and positioned onto the shelves they vanished before the morning stopped. Such is the life of this toy of the year. Zhu Zhu mania is coming close to the ridiculous -- making a secondary market where the amazingly cheap toys ( $8 at Walmart ) become, well, costly toys ( $35.88 for one and $98 for a three-pack on Amazon.com ).

When the loads came in this past weekend at some Walmart stores and were spotted on shelving, shoppers were defied the right to get them at the register. The sales were blocked. This is a statement by Walmart posted under the news page on the Zhu Zhu Pets web site because so many would be consumers were turned away empty handed :

"Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters are among the most sought after toys this holiday season and are quickly selling upon arrival in stores. Walmart stores have been receiving new shipments this week in preparation for their Sunday ad circular. Zhu Zhu Pets%u2122 hamsters are currently 'blocked for sale' at stores to ensure the product is available on Sunday when advertised. Unfortunately, a few were mistakenly placed on the sales floor too early which caused the confusion at the registers. We apologize for the situation and any confusion. Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters will be available for sale at Walmart stores again on 11/8/2009."

Toys R Us turned up with a plan at many stores limiting purchases to one per family. Store bosses made a claim they forecasted more consignments of the Zhu Zhu pets and their accessories but could not recommend delivery times.

Some retail researchers have asserted stores under-ordered. The effect of not having the toys folks most want when they desire them. Over the following month, as Black Fri comes and christmas draws closer, it will become clearer whether that was the problem or if patrons were being drawn in by a clever ploy to make desired items appear in short supply. Whatis going on to be on the list of most-desired toys isn't that serious a puzzle to the retailing giants, who use their substantial tools and resources to work it out.

"Select Toys R Us stores in Phoenix tested Zhu Zhu Pets earlier in the year," Toys R Us speaker Bob Friedland has been quoted as saying. "The fun and interactive nature of the Zhu Zhu Pets hamster excited children. In the test, we saw Zhu Zhu Pets selling well and knew it may be a hot toy." Such testing is done continually round the country, he revealed. Friedland related the issue of supply should be directed at makers. Mike Nakamura, boss man man of the Chicago-based toy company Senario, told WalletPop the Zhu Zhu phenomenon appears legitimate. "It follows the same format as the Beanie Babies or Webkinz. It's collectible," he revealed. "Those don't come along all of the time." Dan Fishback, boss man of DemandTec -- a concern that turns buyer behavior into science, related even the idea a toy can be hard to get can excite demand. "It must be understood that it's tough to get," he claimed in an interview.

"It doesn't have to be hard to get." Thinking back at some past hits,eg provoke Me Elmo, Fishback said that it is less about the toy and more about how it is marketed.

Zhu Zhu Pets Are They Suitable and Safe for Your Kids To Play With

With any new toy that comes onto the market nowadays, safety is a clear concern. In the USA, we are lucky in this, as the many toy safety rules and laws at least provide moms and pops with some toy safety standards, which is sadly not correct yet in so many other nations.

If you're thinking about buying a Zhu Zhu Pets hamsters ( asserted as Zoo Zoo Pets hamsters or Zu Zu Pets hamsters ) toy or any of the numerous hamster accessories that are available out there, then it is always worth highlighting both manufacturer official safety rules as well as those parent safety fears that have just been claimed. This article offers a fast blue sky view of some of the more critical and frequent concerns and ideas, so you can make an enlightened call as to if Zhu Zhu Pets hamster toys are safe for your kids before you get.

These interactive hamster pet toys are essentially manufactured by a company called Cepia who advocate that both their hamster toys and hamster accessories are only appropriate for children of four years and older. I'm convinced that they might like to not have any age limit on them and in doing so enlarge their market client base, but laws are laws and rules are rules and Cepia makes the obligatory caution to both comply and maybe even as an internal agreement. Elders might or might not realize, but these children hamster toys scurry around on battery powered rotating wheels.

As interactive electronic toys, the outer hamster structure obviously shields the essential electronics within.

Once more, rules and Cepia's own internal quality standards ensure that the design is at the standard to promise maximum safety. The velocity of the wheels themselves can revolve at quite a speed, particularly when a fresh set of batteries are inserted. It's no surprise, that the tiny fingers of curious under four year olds are perhaps not the best mix.

Without regard for the age of your kid, some elders have reported their fears that the wheels have pinched their kid's skin and also caught longer hair that got in the way of the moving wheels. These issues of safety do seem to be incredibly remote, particularly considering the massive number of these Zhu Zhu Pets hamster toys that have been purchased. Parental common-sense should actually overcome when it comes to any children toy with moving parts, your child should not be sticking things or bits in them.

At the end of the day, the sole way we could entirely guard our children from any toys with any sort of external parts, would really be to simply make them illegal to provide in the first place. So, commonsense and a dose of figured out risk fact should perhaps be any parent's main safety guard. Another complaint that one parent had, was that when her boy dropped his new pet hamster toy in a bucket of water, it started to act funnily and now it does not work. I do not believe that there's much that has to be declared about this point, except perhaps to be certain that your children understand that hamsters are land creatures and not designed for swimming.

So, are Zhu Zhu Pets hamster toys safe for your kids? That really is your own private preference and it actually is up to you to make that call. From the facts and reports it would appear that any safety circumstances, particularly when in the suggestions of the maker, appear just a few and far between, with the general parent and kid feedback targeting on how much fun and entertainment price they are.
