Zinc and Our Body
Zinc is vital in cell growth and division, it is important in the synthesis of proteins and DNA. Zinc also supports the functions of the liver and the metabolism of proteins and carbohydrates.
Our body is made up of only 2-3grams of Zinc but this is a micro nutrient. A micronutrient is an essential mineral that is needed in only a very small dosage.
The dosage required for Zinc is so small that it is recommended to only take in around 15mg per day. At this small dosage our body will be supported with all that Zinc has to offer.
The consumption of zinc does not wholly correlate to the amount of zinc our body takes. It is proven that if we consume 20mg of Zinc through our food intake the body will only digest and use around 10 - 12mg.
