With it's very decent cover art, Zombiez succeeds in pawning itself off as a real B movie that might be worth renting. DON'T. I wouldn't even classify it as a real movie. It's some guy filming people running around a truck yard with a handy-cam. There's no attempt at a story-line. I mean, it's actually kind of shocking how bad this is. I got more mad that they were able to trick me into sending 2 dollars their way.

Just lame. Almost lamer that Zombiez. They set their zombie flick in a summer camp for the intellectually disabled - classy. And on top of that, it sucks. The actors are normal functioning doing the worst down syndrome imitations ever. Pass

Dead muscles and joints, no matter how well reanimated, can't move with speed and dexterity.

-Moron- says:
Both. I think it depends on how long they have been dead. Newly made zombies would have full body function. Only as they break down do they become slower. Also, a zombie does not feel pain, so it is much more likely to push its body beyond the normal range that a human would endure as long as the body could handle it without tearing its self apart.

If I'm running from them I definitely prefer slow zombies. I don't run very fast.

Fast
PeterPan says:
I don't understand why it has to be one or the other. A more "realistic" ,hehe, approach would be to have different zombies. People would react differently to the desease. Some would be completely brain dead and not notice you at all, while others would be "intelligent" and hunt you. And then there would be all the in-between. It should also make a different if a zombie has gotten any fresh meat lately or it has been starving for a year.
If the zombies react in a predictable maner then it is easier for the survivors to take the right actions, but if the Zombies are completely unpredictable, then it gets harder to survive. And more fun to watch in a movie.
But if it came down to reality, then I vote for the slow ones;)

Fast zombies make for a batter movies. In the words of the heroine of the 1991 Night of the Living Dead re-make, "...but, we could just walk around them."

I like a challenge. When I'm firing off rounds with my sub machine gun, or just blastin' em by the bunches with my shotgun... it's much more fun when they run at you ;D

I have to say fast zombies are better for scare factor...especially in modern zombie flicks where the main characters have guns. Take away the guns and/or make it a comedy and slow zombies are the way to go.

Alexander says:
Slow zombies are better when there's plenty of gore and lots of them - particularly when they're really, really tough to kill (complete with severed hands dragging their way to victims).
Fast zombies are much scarier, though, and provide a better action scene.

All of these are probably worth watching by most zombie movie fans. These are movies that:
- Don't insult our intelligence
- Passable acting and writing, or at least a cast that makes it bearable
- Have good make-up and effects (even if low budget it will add to the story)
- Don't pee all over zombies and their fans

- In a decommissioned nuclear silo (some have been converted to really nice homes) on a large piece of fertile land, surrounded by very high walls. Armed to the teeth with enough people sharing my shelter with me to stand watch and help with the farm.

- i really love the list. definitely touched on a lot of the greats.
there are three important ones that i'd add: zombi 2, the re-animator series, and the evil dead series.
i love that it covers all mediums, including comics. the walking dead is amazing.
