But before we put ourselves to overdrive, it is first proper to learn about what we are dealing with and familiarize ourselves to some automobile racing terms, tips and tricks, and all the r/c dogma we will so ever need. Don't forget to fasten your seat belts coz' we are in for a bumpy ride with these fast RC cars!

What does R/C stand for anyways?
R/C stands for radio-controlled which means it can be driven from a distance using a radio controlled system. Input from a joystick, a controller, or a wheel trigger on a transmitter are sent to a receiver which is on board the device may it be car, airplane, helicopter, or even robot. The possibilities are endless!
In radio controlled cars, the receiver interprets the radio signals and sends electrical pulses to the servo electronic speed controller, making the model turn its wheels and the motor run. This is the basic process behind radio controlled cars which come in a huge variety ranging from simple "stop and go" toys to complex and competitive racing models.
The receiver changes the radio signal broadcast from the transmitter into suitable electrical control signals for the other components of the control system. Most radio systems utilize amplitude modulation for the radio signal and encode the control positions with pulse width modulation. Upgraded radio systems are available that use the more robust frequency modulation and pulse code modulation. The radio is wired up to either electronic speed controls or servomechanisms (shortened to "servo" in common usage) which perform actions such as throttle control, braking, steering, and on some cars, engaging either forward or reverse gears.
Whew! Those were some harsh technicalities! Now off to the fun part.....

Utilize the principles of combustion much like what normal cars do today.
Expensive due to the fact that fuel cannot be renewed. =(
Which is the better choice for your rc hobby?
Nitro gas powered rc cars are very fast but rather expensive while electric powered rc cars pack a smaller punch at a fraction of the cost.
