Social Networks: Will Yuwie compete against Facebook or MySpace?
First of all thanks for stopping by:
If you wonder what I am talking about there are many social networks being born by the day. The internet is moving at the speed of light by now, so I'll try to be brief.
I'll try to give you some inside info on a new social networks and two established ones.
Yuwie
Yuwie is a MySpace clone, with a minor subtle difference: Yuwie pays the users. Yes, the owner decided that in order to compete against the kings of social networks: MySpace and Facebook, he would have to give the users and extra incentive, pay them to use the service. Yuwie works like this, you refer a friend using your Yuwie referral link, and then you get paid for your page views and your referral's page views. But that's not all; you get paid for your referral's referrals and his referral's up to ten levels. It's simple the more people you refer the more money you will get paid.
It takes time to refer people and you really need a big referral tree to actually make some considerable money, but still people have made money, are Facebook or MySpace paying you?. Well it turns out that this idea, is paying off, Yuwie has increased its members to close to 350,000 in less than 6 months. The owner is heavy against nudity and adult content and the members are very friendly, and many are business oriented.
About Facebook
I have being using Yuwie since October 2007; coincidently I found one of those referral links in one of the big SPAM groups Facebook has.Yes, I have been a Facebook addict since late 2005, but Facebook has turned detrimentally into a nicely interfaced money-making-spam MySpace. Besides the fact that they continually bring innovation to go deeper into the user's personal information:
- News feed: I know what my friends do 24 hrs a day.
- Mini-feed: It tells you what you did and already know.
- Viral advertising (if your friend buys you a gift you get to know what it is and when he bought it).
Apparently, every time Facebook comes up with a new one, they have to make a fix a couple of days later. I just decided to use it less when the sponsored links kept popping up and my browser filter couldn't deal with them. Anyway I have to keep using it as all my friends from Berkeley and back home in Costa Rica are using it. I do like the interface here but sometimes the white background is just too much for my personal liking.
About Yuwie
I have learned a lot here, made friends learned about Marketing, Multi-Level Marketing, Strategized Marketing, and also learned about human behavior and exchange with on-line socialites. I personally think that it is a good idea if you understand that you can make SOME residual money out of it and have a lot of fun, make business partners, and common interest friends.I don't like that everyone can put as many banners and different backgrounds as they want, but I guess that gives the user the chance to personalize their own page, and you can always choose not to visit those pages.
About MySpace
SPAM, nudity, and I just terribly dislike the homepage and the character that appears there, I think his name is TOM. Coincidently he also studied in Berkeley, go figure that one out.Although I must say for music bands, it is a great place to share their music. Of course, this goes the same for explicit pictures of sexy women, and some not that sexy. And despots trying to become your friend to get to 100k, or maybe it's just somebody using a FriendBlaster Pro.
Will Yuwie battle it out to take out Facebook or MySpace?
As for Yuwie, the owner has been strict against improper content and the membership keeps growing exponentially. This site definitely have a lot of potential. As of me, I will definitely use it, it is really addictive to watch the referral tree growing. I just tried to give you guys an inside scoop on this, but as we all know word of mouth will decide that, this being the BEST (Viral) marketing.
Also if you hit the link for Yuwie you will come as my referrals I will help you out to get acquainted with the site. This means that I am benefiting that you sign under my name, just wanted to be honest with you.
Also please leave some comments and opinions if you like. Thanks
Jaime
